Jasprit Bumrah Pulls Out of 2025 Champions Trophy, Big Blow for India

Bumrah Withdrawn from 2025 Champions Trophy

In a major setback for Team India, star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has withdrawn from the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to fitness concerns. The decision comes as part of workload management, with the team wanting to ensure his long-term fitness rather than risking further injury.

Bumrah has been India’s go-to bowler in crucial matches, known for his deadly yorkers and ability to perform under pressure. His absence leaves a big hole in India’s pace attack, especially with a high-stakes tournament like the Champions Trophy on the horizon.

With Bumrah ruled out, the selectors are now looking for a replacement. Options include experienced pacer Mohammed Shami, who is making a comeback from injury, as well as young talents like Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik. Deepak Chahar and Avesh Khan could also be considered, depending on team strategy and conditions.

India will begin its Champions Trophy campaign on February 23 in Pakistan. While the team remains strong, losing Bumrah is a huge challenge, and the pressure will now be on the rest of the bowling attack to step up in his absence.
